Thomas Berry: Dreamer of the Universe is an intimate conversation with cultural historian, ecological thinker and author Thomas Berry, whose work challenged the assumptions that place humanity above and apart from the natural world.
Berry asks us to reconsider the modern story of progress — and the ecological cost of treating the Earth primarily as a collection of resources. Moving between cosmology, culture, economics, science and spirituality, he argues for a more participatory relationship with the living world: one grounded in wonder, responsibility and a recognition that human life belongs within a much larger community.
Filmed as an extended interview, the documentary gives Berry the space to unfold his thinking in his own voice. Decades after it was made, the questions at its centre have only become more urgent: what story do we tell ourselves about the Earth — and what kind of civilisation does that story create?
